This workshop is tailored for anyone who wishes to explore the beautiful city of Hamburg and, at the same time, to be immersed in a big event such as the Pride.
Francesca, with her long-time experience in street photography events, will guide the participants in the process of shooting and reviewing. She will also help the participants to select their best images for building up a series on the Pride.

WORKSHOP SCHEDULE
Each day will include shooting and theoretical session on all you need to know about street photography, dos and don’ts, ways to overcome the fear of getting close, detailed look into various composition aspects and the common mistakes while composing, understanding layering in photography, developing one’s own style, understanding peripheral vision, ways to see and treat light.
DAY #1: Friday 1st , August 2025

DAY #2: Saturday August 2nd, 2025

• Shooting session around the city of Hamburg

• Hamburg Pride Parade
DAY #3: Sunday August 3rd, 2025
6:00-9:00 am
• Shooting Session at the City’s Fish Market.
9:00-11:00 am
• Breakfast break.
11:00-1:00 pm
• Shooting Session around the city of Hamburg
1:00-3:00 pm
• Lunch break.
3:00-5:00 pm
• Images review. Selection of 10/20 pictures for each participant.
• Final editing and sequencing of 5/10 images for each participant.
PLEASE NOTE: the workshop schedule can be changed upon the Pride program (TBD).
REQUIREMENTS
• Skill Level: Beginning or Intermediate
• Requirement: Basic understanding of photography fundamentals (ISO,
aperture & shutter speed) and camera operations.
• Equipment: Digital camera with fixed angle lens (23-35mm preferred), laptop with basic editing software
• Language: English
• Class capacity: 10 pax

Terms&Conditions
All fees are nonrefundable if you withdraw from a workshop less than one month prior to its start date, unless we are able to fill your seat.
Spazio Tangram reserves the right to cancel any workshop up to one week prior to the start date if the workshop is under-enrolled, in which case a full refund will be issued.
A minimum of 5 students is required to run this workshop.
Mentor: Francesca Chiacchio
Francesca started shooting and developing photos while studying architecture in Naples, Italy. After graduating, she took a 3-month photography course, and soon after she moved to NYC, with the idea of becoming a professional photographer. Once there, she ended up working as an architect, taking pictures in her free time. Back in Naples,
she got passionate about Street Photography and since then her work has been exhibited in various photography festivals and exhibitions worldwide and it has been featured in numerous international magazines and webpages.
Since 2020 she has been a member of an international street photography collective called “Through the Lands”, which aims to connect photographers from all over the world to show their unique P.O.V. of the countries they visit.
In 2021 she appears, among other 99 female street photographers, in the book “Women Street Photographers” curated by Gulnara Samoilova and edited by Prestel Publishing.
In June 2023 an article about Francesca has been published on the italian magazine “Il Fotografo”. In the same year she collaborates with Fujifilm Italia to narrate the “Summer Jamboree” Festival in one of their X-Stories; and in September she wins the second prize with her collection “Napolism” at the Gothenburg Street Photo Festival.
In March 2024 her name appears among 5 Masters of Street Photography on the online magazine Fotocult.it. In the same month she publishes her first Zine with Docu Magazine.
In March 2025 she has her solo exhibition at the Festival Fotografico Europeo in Milan.
Francesca has been Guest Speaker and Judge for several Street Photo Festivals like Italian Street Photo Festival, Istanbul Street Photography Festival and Gothenburg Street Photo Festival. Furthermore, she has run her own workshops in Naples, as well as with other street photographers and organizations like Vineet Vohra, Giedo van der Zwan (Shoot like a local) and Eyeshot Magazine.
