Street Photography Workshop with Francesca Chiacchio | 5ᵗʰ edition

27ᵗʰ to 29ᵗʰ march, 2026 | c/o Spazio Tangram Napoli

This workshop is aimed at both those who have recently approached street photography and those who want to perfect their shots and take them to a higher level. The teacher, through the analysis of images, both his own and those of the participants, will highlight the elements that make up a good photographic image, and will guide participants to the positioning of these elements in a balanced way within the frame. We will talk about background and foreground, empty and full, light and shadow, main subject and secondary elements, layers and overlaps.

Workshop will be held in English.

The workshop is reserved for a maximum of 10 participants.

WORKSHOP SCHEDULE

The workshop will be divided into three days

Day #1: Friday March 27ᵗʰ, 2026

18:00-20:00

At Spazio Tangram

Introduction to photographic composition in Street Photography.
Portfolios reviews, based on which the teacher will direct participants on what to shoot.

Day #2: Saturday March 28ᵗʰ, 2026

h.10:00-13:00
• Street photography session. Teacher will accompany each participant from time to time
h.16:00-19:00
• At Spazio Tangram: review of the day’s shots. Selection of approximately 5 photos each.

Day #3: Sunday March 29ᵗʰ, 2026

The teacher: Francesca Chiacchio

Francesca began taking and printing photos while studying architecture in Naples. After graduating, she enrolled in a photography course at Nigma Fotografi di Sergio De Benedictis and soon after moved to New York, with the idea of becoming a professional photographer. Once there, she worked as an architect for over 8 years, continuing to photograph in her free time. Back in Naples, in 2017 she became passionate about Street
Photography, and since 2019 her work has been exhibited in various photography festivals and exhibitions and has appeared in numerous magazines and web pages.
Since 2020 Francesca has been a member of the international street photography collective “Through the Lands”, whose aim is to connect 14 photographers from various parts of the world.
In 2019 and 2020 she is Guest Curator for the international community of women photographers “Women in Street”.
In 2021 she appears among the 100 “Women Street Photographers” in the book edited by Gulnara Samoilova and published by Prestel Publishing.
In 2022 she was chosen by Magazzini Fotografici to work on a personal project sponsored by the Madre Museum in Naples on the theme “Utopia/Dystopia”.
In 2023 she was invited as a Judge and Guest Speaker at the Italian Street Photo Festival.
Also in 2023 she won the second prize at the Gothenburg Street Photography Festival with the series “Napolism” and immediately after she was called to collaborate with the international street photography magazine Eyeshot Magazine to conduct a series of experiences and photographic walks organized in Naples during the exhibition “Eyeshot Open Call 2023” at Magazzini Fotografici.

All fees are nonrefundable if you withdraw from a workshop less than one month prior to its start date, unless we are able to fill your seat.

Spazio Tangram reserves the right to cancel any workshop up to one week prior to the start date if the workshop is under-enrolled, in which case a full refund will be issued.
